A special medical team of strictly California State Guard personnel assemble at Sacramento’s California Military Department headquarters March 25 prior to a support mission in San Mateo County, California. This team will be strongly engaged in the coronavirus fight as they will be located in the San Francisco Bay Area which aggressively set requirements since the initial COVID-19 outbreak hit the near-San Francisco area. The State Guard normally augments the California National Guard on missions, but this team has no Guardsmen, making this a rare opportunity for Cal Guard’s extended force.
