CAMP HANSEN, Okinawa, Japan (March 28, 2020) An M142 High-Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit’s (MEU) HIMARS platoon prepares to conduct a fire mission rehearsal. During the operation the HIMARS conducted a ship to shore movement via landing craft, air cushion from San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) to shore and simulated a fire mission to support split operations. The 31st MEU's ability to conduct HIMARS amphibious landings provides a lethal long range precision fire capability in support of amphibious operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Audrey M. C.
