FORT LEE, Virginia — (March 31, 2020) The U.S. Army conducted the first movement of troops since restricted travel of Dept. of Defense forces was implemented March 16. A combined effort of social distance enabled training and other health and safety measures were implemented in the controlled transport of approximately 800 Basic Combat Training recruits from Fort Jackson, S.C. to Fort Lee, Va. Training and Doctrine Command is dedicated to meeting critical mission requirements while safeguarding the health and wellness of recruits, trainees, drill sergeants, support personnel, cadre and their families.
