Col. Phillip Borders, commander of the Alaska District, and Matthew Johnson, project manager, tour the auxiliary gym inside the Alaska Airlines Center on April 10 to discuss how the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ standard design plan will be implemented at the area to treat COVID-19 patients in Anchorage. The district is assisting FEMA and the State of Alaska to convert the arena into an alternate care facility in the fight against the coronavirus health crisis.
