Pfc. Jerel Jones, an infantryman with the C. Co., 1st Battalion, 175th Infantry Regiment based in Glen Burnie, Maryland, stands next to his company sign outside of 1st Regiment Armory in Glen Burnie, Maryland. In response to COVID-19, Jones is assisting with food distribution missions in the same Baltimore community he resides in. More than 2,000 Maryland National Guard members are activated to support Maryland’s response to COVID-19. The MDNG is working in close coordination with the many agencies to support civil authorities to augment civil agency capabilities.
