200312-N-GB257-001 Charleston, S.C. (March 12, 2020) Expeditionary Enterprise Systems and Services Division engineers at Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic hold a video teleconference March 12, 2020 with Marines to sync Operational Application and Service Innovation Site (OASIS) software-development projects that dozens of other OASIS engineers work on behind the scenes. The newly accredited OASIS collaborative environment enables NIWC Atlantic to deliver “DevSecOps” — development, security and operations — to the U.S. Marine Corps for the first time. DevSecOps, a commercial best practice that only recently made inroads in the U.S. military, pairs programmers (Dev) with system administrators (Ops) while also embedding security (Sec) into every step of software development.
