A workforce of 12 Airmen from the 58th Operations Support Squadron sewed more than 1,775 face coverings for the 58th Special Operations Wing (and its units geographically separated) and 200 for the 377th Air Base Wing Airmen living in the dorms on Kirtland Air Force Base. In addition to ensuring perfectly functioning flight and safety equipment for the 58 SOW, the air crew flight equipment Airmen used their existing sewing proficiencies required for their job and applied those to sewing much needed face coverings.
