Ssg. Lee is from South Korea
My favorite thing about my culture is our food! Korean food is based on rice, vegetables and meats. Kimich is our most popular food. Anytime we have a meal, we always have rice and Kimchi. Kimchi is the Korean version of salad. If we're not eating rice and Kimchi, then we don't consider it as a meal. All Korean foods are very healthy food.
Being is Asian American can be a little bit of a challenge balancing two cultures. When I moved to America I had to learn a new language, and different culture. Korean American parents don't want you to lose your native tongue, or Korean culture. At home we only speak Korean, and follow Korean culture to cultivate a respectful environment. In my free time, I enjoy sharing my culture with other Koreans to help commemorate our tradition.
My culture is special to me because of the respect. I was taught at a young age that everyone deserves respect especially our elders.
