The soldiers are members of the Ohio National Guard’s 1194th Engineer Company. A team of more than 50 soldiers from the 1194th are participating in a specialized Search and Extraction training as part of their yearly two-week National Guard Annual Training. The soldiers of the 1194th are training to become part of the Ohio National Guard’s Homeland Response Force. The Homeland Response Force is one of 10 organizations nationally that can respond to a chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear disaster.
