LT. j.g. Bernardo Tincoco, a supply officer assigned to the Amphibious Assault Shipp USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), from Dallas, poses for an environmental portrait in front of the Bonhomme Richard. Mr. Tinoco was recognized by Rear Adm. Philip E. Sobeck, Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group Three, during a press conference following four days of firefighting efforts which lead to all fires being extinguished aboard the Bonhomme Richard, July 16. Mr. Tinoco lead multiple teams onboard Bonhomme Richard on recon missions to set safe and stable routes for our firefighting teams to safely navigate throughout the ship. Additionally, he led a team to extract a Sailor in need of medical attention and safely removed him from the ship and rendered medical attention. On the morning of July 12, a fire was called away aboard the ship while it was moored pierside at Naval Base San Diego. Base and shipboard firefighters responded to the fire. USS Bonhomme Richard is going through a maintenance availability, which began in 2018.
