Marine Corps Base Quantico's only venomous snake is the Eastern Copperhead. It can be identified by its copper color, brown-striped pattern, spade-shaped head, and diamond eyes. Copperheads will not attack unless they feel threatened. If you come across a copperhead, leave it alone and let it escape. For removal call Quantico Fish and Wildlife at 703-432-6774.
