Lt. Alex Biggs, Naval Air Station Corpus Christi’s staff Judge Advocate donates blood during an Armed Services Blood Program blood drive at the station’s Catalina Club. The three-day blood drive was held to collect blood donations to support service members worldwide as well as to collect COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma to aid in the fight against COVID-19. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has authorized the use of COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma as an investigational treatment for patients with COVID-19 infections. To assist in the national response to COVID-19, the Military Health System is collecting blood and/or plasma from beneficiaries who have recovered from the illness.
