Three CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters assigned to Marine Medium Tilt Rotor Squadron 261 (Reinforced), sit chained to the flight deck aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS New York (LPD 21). New York is part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group with the embarked 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and is currently deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
