Corey Thornton, Curator at the MacArthur Memorial in Norfolk, Virginia places one of the surrender pens used by General Douglas MacArthur to sign the instrument of surrender aboard the USS Missouri (BB 63) in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945. The pen is in the collections of the MacArthur Memorial, and was brought to the deck of the Battleship, USS Wisconsin (BB 64) to be used in a live-streamed ceremony commemorating the end of World War II. The ceremony was coordinated by the Virginia WWI and WWII Commission. (US Navy Photo by Max Lonzanida/Released).
