200911-N-KM072-030 KEY WEST, Fla. (Sept. 11, 2020) Naval Air Station Key West Fire Department firefighters participated in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb by climbing a cumulative 110 flights of stairs at the air traffic control tower on Boca Chica Field. The climb is a symbolic tribute to the first responders who climbed the 110 floors of the World Trade Center. The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climbs are not timed race events, but a way for firefighters and the community to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who gave their lives so that others might live. Naval Air Station Key West is the state-of-the-art facility for combat fighter aircraft of all military services, provides world-class pierside support to U.S. and foreign naval vessels, and is the premier training center for surface and subsurface military operations.
