NAVAL AMPHIBIOUS BASE CORONADO (Sept. 11, 2020) U.S. Army General Richard D. Clarke, commander, United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), delivers remarks during the Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC) change of command ceremony where Rear Adm. H. W. Howard III relieved Rear Adm. Collin P. Green as the commander of NSWC. NSWC is committed to its Sailors and the deliberate development of their tactical excellence, ethics, and leadership as the nation’s premiere maritime special operations force supporting the National Defense Strategy. It is the maritime component of USSOCOM, and its mission is to provide maritime special operations forces to conduct full-spectrum operations, unilaterally or with partners, to support national objectives. USSOCOM develops and employs fully capable Special Operations Forces to conduct global special operations and activities as part of the Joint Force to support persistent, networked and distributed Combatant Command operations and campaigns against state and non-state actors to protect and advance U.S. policies and objectives.
