    Oregon Army National Guard Soldier Spc. Sterling Hall, of Hermiston, with the 1186th Military Police Company, 821 Troop Command Battalion, 82nd Brigade, provides clarification regarding access to a local resident while manning the traffic control point (TCP) on Highway 22 near Stayton, Ore., Sept 15, 2020.The Soldiers are assisting in protecting people from dangers still active in the area after recent Oregon fires.They are only allowing access to essential personnel, such as fire crews, utility workers and medical teams. Approximately 1000 Oregon Citizen-Soldiers and Citizen-Airmen are supporting overall firefighting efforts with both aviation and ground crews in addition to supporting county liaison teams and Oregon State Police, with both traffic control points and fatality search and rescue operations.
