Oregon Army National Guard Soldiers with the 1186th Military Police Company, 821 Troop Command Battalion, 82nd Brigade, confirm details of their mission at a traffic control point (TCP) near Stayton, Ore., Sept. 15, 2020.The Soldiers are assisting in protecting people from dangers still active in the areas affected by the recent Oregon fires.They are only allowing access to essential personnel, such as fire crews, utility workers and medical teams. Approximately 1000 Oregon Citizen-Soldiers and Citizen-Airmen are supporting overall firefighting efforts with both aviation and ground crews in addition to supporting county liaison teams and Oregon State Police, with both TCP and fatality search and rescue operations.
