Lechleiter, a native of Rio Rancho, N.M., signals to a C-2A Greyhound from the “Providers” of Fleet Logistic Support Squadron (VRC) 30, carrying Secretary of Defense Dr. Mark T. Esper, as he departs the flight deck of Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). During the visit, Esper toured the ship’s composite warfare commander spaces, receiving in-depth briefs on carrier strike group interoperability and naval power defense. Vinson is currently underway conducting flight deck certification (FDC) and carrier air traffic control center (CATCC) certification.
