Col. Trent Upton, commander, and Command Sgt. Major Jonathan Reffeor, senior enlisted leader, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team prepare to case the brigade colors during the unit’s color casing ceremony at Cottrell Field in Fort Stewart, Georgia, Oct. 1, 2020. The 1st ABCT will replace the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, as part of a regular rotation of forces to support the United States’ commitment to Southeast Asia partners and allies. The casing of the colors is a traditional ceremony held by United States Army commands, brigades and regiments.
