Col. James Peckham Jr., G3, 1st Theater Sustainment Command, delivers a speech during a welcome home ceremony for the Army Mariners of the 411th and 335th Transportation Detachments at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, Oct. 8, 2020. Peckham spoke to the many accomplishments of the units during their tenure in support of the mission in the U.S. Central Command and U.S. Army Central area of operation in the Middle East. The crews made the 10,000 nautical mile trek aboard the Maj. Gen. Charles P. Gross (LSV 5) and the SP4 James A. Loux (LSV 6), which were the last of the LSVs to redeploy from Kuwait back to the U.S. in support of the Army’s watercraft modernization strategy.
