Sky Soldiers and Folgore paratroopers conducted sustainment airborne training in Pisa, Italy, October 15, 2020. The jump also lead to a wing exchange which is an opportunity for our paratroopers and the Folgore to earn the other nation's jump wings. Training like this allows both allies to gain confidence in each other's equipment and procedures, and helps build the bonds of interoperability between both Armies.
The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States Europe, Africa and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
