U.S. Army Col. John D. Litchfield, Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-B) commander, looks over Soto Cano Air Base from inside a UH-60 Black Hawk en route to Aguacate, Honduras, Dec. 1, 2020 during a field rotation with assigned personnel supporting nearby hurricane response efforts. JTF-B began life-saving, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief missions throughout Honduras in response to Hurricane Eta on Nov. 5 and continued those efforts after Hurricane Iota made landfall Nov. 16. After nearly a month of supporting Foreign Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations under authorities granted by the Acting Secretary of Defense, and at the request of U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Southern Command and JTF-B will conclude immediate response missions for Hurricanes Eta and Iota in Central America on Dec. 2, 2020.
