Tugboats assist the U.S. Army large landing craft USAV Monterrey (LCU 2030), right, through Chiniak Bay, June 15, 2012, in Kodiak, Alaska. The vessel struck an underwater rock, June 8, 2012, breaching the hull and causing more than 8,000 gallons of diesel fuel to leak into the bay. Coast Guard crews placed oil containment booms around the craft, which was later towed to Seward, Alaska, for permanent repairs to its hull.
