SILVERDALE, Wash. (Dec. 11, 2020) - Cmdr. Darren Gerhardt, from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, relieved Cmdr. Mike Tomon, from New Castle, Pennsylvania, to assume the duties and responsibilities as commanding officer of the blue crew of the Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Maine (SSBN 741), Dec. 11. In February 2020, Maine successfully completed a test missile launch, known as Demonstration and Shakedown Operation 30, followed by an official return to the fleet in May 2020.
