SAN DIEGO (Jan. 29, 2021) Families of Naval Medicine Readiness and Training Center San Diego's (NMRTC) newly pinned chief petty officers prepare to watch the chief pinning ceremony from Naval Medical Center San Diego's chapel Jan. 29. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the ceremony, the ceremony was livestreamed via video teleconference and Facebook Live allowing family, friend and staff to participate while adhering to social distancing guidelines set forth from the Centers for Disease Control. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the ways of how to conduct business and NMRTC has adapted some of its techniques and practices to keep everyone safe. NMRTC’s mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research.
