Deck Department Sailors watch a rigid hull inflatable boat as it is recovered after small boat operations aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63). RHIBs are mainly used for security and rescue operations. Kitty Hawk and the embarked Carrier Air Wing 5 are deployed, Oct. 21, and will participate in the annual exercise with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. Kitty Hawk operates from Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan.
