Martin Robertson, from Erie, Penn., commanding officer of the guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) and oldest Sailor on board, cuts a cake with the ship’s youngest Sailor, Fireman Aljohn Mendoza, from Milpitas, Calif., to celebrate the anniversary of the ship’s commissioning in the mess decks. The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser was commissioned on Feb. 11, 1989. Princeton is part of Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and is deployed conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
