Dr. Darryl Boyd—a chemist in the Optical Sciences Division of the Naval Research Laboratory—won the Adm. Michelle Howard Legacy Award during the 2021 Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA). The BEYA awards honor corporate, military, government and educational leaders expanding opportunities for African-Americans in STEM fields. The Adm.
