Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievement by African Americans and a time to recognize their central role in U.S. history. Dyess Airmen, who are impactful leaders, were chosen to be highlighted throughout the month of February.
Lt. Col. Odi Diambra is the 7th Equipment Maintenance Squadron commander, and is responsible for organizing, training and equipping more than 400 Airmen to maintain 33 B-1B Lancers, 30 C-130J Super Hercules and more than 700 pieces of aerospace ground equipment.
“I hope that people can develop cultural empathy and realize that racial diversity in our military makes us more lethal, more innovative, and sets the example for the rest of our society,” said Diambra. “From diversity, we can harness the best out of everyone and find better ways to address problems.”
