U.S. Army 2nd Lt. Anthony Fuentes, a Cedar City, Utah native and medical-surgical nurse with U.S. Army Medical Command stationed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland, poses for a photo at the state-led, federally-supported Wisconsin Center COVID-19 Community Vaccination Center in Milwaukee, April 16, 2021. Fuentes is part of a group of Soldiers that are supporting the vaccination efforts in Milwaukee. Fuentes’s roll in the mission is to help distribute the vaccine and answer questions anyone might have. Fuentes volunteered for this mission because he wanted to give back and make a difference. “I hope by being here we can increase the number of people being vaccinated in the United States as well as increase their knowledge about vaccines,” said Fuentes. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
