ROTA, Spain (March 30, 2021) Electrician's Mate 2nd Class Brandon Stewart, right, receives his certificate of appointment to the rank of petty officer second class from Cmdr. John D. John, commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71) at an all-hands call, March 30, 2021. Stewart was promoted following his selection for the Meritorious Advancement Program. Ross, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is on patrol in the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations in support of regional allies and partners and U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
