The U.S. Army's Deputy Judge Advocate General, Maj. Gen. Stuart W. Risch, provided a 'state of the corps' update to members of the Fort Rucker Office of the Staff Judge Advocate at the U.S. Army Aviation Museum, Fort Rucker, Ala., May 11, 2021. In keeping with the Uniform Code of Military Justice, the Judge Advocate General is required to make frequent inspections in the field to oversee the administration of military justice. During the session he spoke to the team about their role in helping commanders ensure good order and discipline. Topics included the scope of current issues from COVID-19 to racial unrest, understanding the Army client and legal landscape, self-development, and improving diversity, equity and inclusion. Risch emphasized the importance of being good counselors, coaches and mentors as the Army prioritizes People First.
