A team of personnel from Romania's 86th Air Base visit the Alabama National Guard's 187th Fighter Wing to observe and discuss various aspects of Air Force base operation. In addition to numerous operational counterparts at the 187th, the Romanian Airmen also met with wing commander Col. Doug DeMaio and Alabama National Guard Director of the Joint Staff, Brig. Gen. Johnny Bass. The Alabama National Guard has been partnered with the Romanian military since 1993 through the U.S. National Guard's State Partnership Program, sharing resources and training to promote interoperability and security in both countries.
