210611-N-JW440-1035 PHILIPPINE SEA (June 11, 2021) Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician 3rd Class Ethan Tews, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 5 demonstrates explosive handing procedures while Lt. j.g. Juan Paredes, from, Miami, observes during a training scenario with members of the visit board search and seizure team (VBSS) aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Shiloh (CG 67). EOD and VBSS teams train together to improve shipboard readiness and responsiveness to a variety of situations. Shiloh is attached to Commander, Task Force 70/Carrier Strike Group 5 conducting underway operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
