Soap and vehicle grime flows into a Fort Lee storm drain in this recently captured photo. For the protection of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, community members are reminded that “only rain goes down the drain.” All car washing should be performed in a facility where the water is captured and cleaned or recycled. Storm drains should not be used for disposal of chemical substances. Failure to comply with these safeguards could result in steep fines for the installation and the offending individual.
