Capt. Samuel White, prospective Commanding Officer, Naval Station Guantanamo Bay; Manuel "Alex" Nungaray, General Manager, NEX Guantanamo Bay Complex; and Commanding Officer, Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Capt. John Fischer cut the ribbon to open the NEX Dive Center on June 16. This is the first direct-run Dive Center in the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) Enterprise. The NEX operates the Dive Center including retail sales, equipment rental and air tank refills and NEX Guantanamo Bay Dive Center associates are fully certified in air tank filling and inspections. NEXCOM is comprised of 14,000 personnel worldwide facilitating six business lines, NEX retail stores, the Navy Lodge Program, Telecommunications Program, Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility, Ships Store Program and the Uniform Program Management Office.
