Maj. Gen. Glenn M. Walters, commanding general of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, left, congratulates Maj. Walter J. Butler Jr. during a ceremony on Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Sept. 19. Butler received the Bronze Star Medal for his service as a Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 353 detachment officer in charge from August 2011 to February 2012, during which time the detachment transported millions of pounds of cargo and fuel, as well as thousands of combat troops in support of operations in Afghanistan.
