Sgt. Maj. Henry Prutch and Maj. Gen. Glenn M. Walters, foreground, salute during the playing of the National Anthem at Prutch’s retirement ceremony Sept. 21 at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C. Prutch, who retired after 30 years in the Marine Corps, served with Walters in southwestern Afghanistan as the command element for the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward), the aviation combat element for the region. Walters now commands the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, headquartered at Cherry Point.
