CAL FIRE and United States Forest Service employees along with members of the Air National Guard attend the morning briefing July 14, 2021 at McClellan Air Tanker Base, Sacramento, Calif. Each day they go over the weather and any updates on current fires. The DoD, through the commander, U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), provides support to the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) in conducting wildland fire fighting operations as requested. The USDA Forest Service activated the MAFFS-equipped Air Force C-130 aircraft June 26 through a DoD request for assistance.
