Virginia Penrod, Acting Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, visited NEX Norfolk and Navy Lodge Norfolk, Virginia, on July 15, 2021, to see first-hand how the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) supports the quality of life of its patrons. Accompanying Penrod during her visit was retired Rear Adm. Robert J. Bianchi, Chief Executive Officer of NEXCOM and Jennifer McComas, General Manager, NEX Norfolk. NEXCOM is comprised of 14,000 personnel worldwide facilitating six business lines, NEX retail stores, the Navy Lodge Program, Telecommunications Program, Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility, Ships Store Program and the Uniform Program Management Office.
