Lt. Cmdr. Christopher Gudgin of the Royal Australian Navy is part of a long-term officer exchange program and is currently serving aboard amphibious assault ship Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) as the future operations planner for Amphibious Squadron 11, which is permanently embarked aboard Bonhomme Richard. Bonhomme Richard, commanded by Capt. Daniel Dusek, is the lead ship of the only forward-deployed amphibious ready group and is currently operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.
