Ploch, an instructor with Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry – East, uses optics to look down range aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune as a forward observer as part of an instructor-only class on firing from the defilade Sept 19. The class is taught the rare technique of firing from the defilade with a direct-fire M240B machine gun.
