The architect's rendering of a bird's eye view of the completed barracks complex shows new facilities for lodging, dining, and troop administration.
The groundbreaking ceremony, held July 29, 2021, kicked off an estimated two-and-a-half-year project at the Alabama National Guard's Fort McClellan Training Center in Anniston, Ala., that is replacing 15 WWII-era buildings with three two-story barracks, two single-story barracks, two dining facilities, two company administration buildings, and a battalion headquarters building, totaling 107,812 square feet of new construction with bunk space for more than 350 personnel.
