SANTA RITA, Guam (July 29, 2021) - (From left) Elinor DeWire, sponsor, U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Cutter Frederick Hatch, Jo-Ann Henry Espeut, sponsor, USCG Cutter Oliver Henry, and Megan Hazard Stack, sponsor, USCG Cutter Myrtle Hazard, “bring the cutters to life” during a ceremony on U.S. Naval Base Guam July 29. The ceremony commissioned three new sentinel-class fast response cutters stationed on Guam. Ship sponsors, traditionally female, are invited to sponsor a vessel to bestow good luck and protection over the vessel and all who sail aboard.
