U.S. Marine Sgt. Christopher Williams with the Marine Corps Rifle Team set a new national record, earning the Hathcock Trophy, at the National Matches on Camp Perry, Port Clinton, Ohio Aug. 6, 2021. Participants competed with six-man-teams where each shooter fired a timed 100-point aggregate using national match M-16 A4 service rifles from the 200, 300 and 600 yard lines in the sitting and standing positions. The National Matches, also called the “World Series of Shooting Sports,” have been a tradition on Camp Perry since 1907. More than 4,500 participants compete annually.
