Airman Armando Barrios, 148th Fighter Wing Force Support Squadron Services Flight poses for a photo in the wing dining facility Aug. 14th, 2021. Barrios has been in the unit nearly three years and enlisted due to no-pressure encouragement from his International Falls, Minn., Bronco basketball coach, also an enlisted member.
“I enjoy Hispanic Heritage Month and being able to teach my culture and traditions to my younger siblings and friends – as well as the language and food,” said Barrios. Barrios is currently working to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and should achieve that goal in 2022.
“I am also proud of my Great-Grandma Consuelo and Great-Grandpa Cavazos for coming over legally, so that every generation in my family has the opportunity to live in the land of free and make something good of themselves,” said Barrios as he reflected on the celebration of Hispanic Heritage month.
