Members of Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 1's Construction Dive Detachment Bravo (CDDB) pour concrete into pile jackets as part of the Spiral 1 repair process as part of the the Expeditionary Port Damage Repair (ExPDR) training evolution during Navy's Large Scale Exercise (LSE) 2021.
The Spiral 1 repair process is the first of four in the Port Improvement via Exigent Repair Joint Capability Technology Demonstration (PIER JCTD). PIER JCTD solutions are one of many methods used to improve port infrastructure during major combat operations (MCO) around the globe.
The all-hands effort, commanded by UCT 1 as part of an adaptive force package, demonstrated the full spectrum of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Force (NECF), including: Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit TWO, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit TWO, Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron TWO, and NMCB 133.
