People lay flowers to honor 9/11 victims and fallen first responders and service members as part of the Remembrance Ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of 9/11 at the Special Operations Forces Memorial Sep. 10 on MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Members of the SOF enterprise have operated for the last 20 years ensuring Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, and other locations were not safe havens for violent extremist organizations and used to threaten the Homeland.
