Cataño, Puerto Rico, September 15, 2021 - Manuel Centeno, FEMA National Public Warning System (NPWS) Program Manager, and Orlando Olivera, FEMA R2 Caribbean Area Office Coordinator, participated in the special exercise that was conducted at the alternate radio station WKAQ-AM in Cataño. FEMA made improvements and upgrades to this facility and through the exercise evaluated the long-range transmission capabilities, and the ability to link live programming between WKAQ-AM Cataño and WPAB in Ponce.
